Any current student at the University of Auckland or Auckland University of Technology. International students are welcome too!

No. We champion a diverse range of mindsets within our teams, and encourage students from any faculty to apply. We do not screen by degree during our recruitment process.

No, we do not require students to have any prior experience with consulting to become a ThinkPod consultant. Our team and externals that join us throughout the project will train our consultants with weekly workshops in addition to each team having two mentors to guide the team through the project.

We will be present at lecture bashes and stall days during the start of each semester at the University of Auckland, with info nights held each of the first two weeks of semester.

Applications open 1 week before the start of each semester and close on Tuesday week 2 of each semester. Applications can be made through the link on our website’s home page, or alternatively, our social media should keep you updated and also provide a link.

Step one is the online application form.

If we think you embody the qualities that we look for in our consultants, you will then be invited to an individual and also a group  interview with some members of the team here at Thinkpod. This mainly is a chance for our team to understand how you collaborate with others in a team setting, your motivations for applying, and what skills you may contribute to a project.

Finally, if you are successful, you will be placed in a team that suits your skill set best and begin your project in Week 3 of the semester!

The ThinkPod experience was one of the most fun things I took part in in my University career and I would recommend it to anyone looking to expand their horizons and work on their out-of-the-box problem solving skills. I have made friendships that will last a lifetime and learned valuable skills that will help me greatly in my professional life!

The learning experience you gain from it from both a business side like writing reports, to seeing how charities are run, are priceless. It’s also so rewarding when you see the client implement your ideas knowing you actually helped make a difference in many lives.
